On April 4th, 1953, D.S.W. and D.A.N. gave their hearts to one another and commemorated their commitment with one of the most unique vintage rings I have ever seen! I love thinking about the 1953 bride who eschewed the ladylike engagement ring styles that were popular at the time, and instead opted for this large, unique, structural wonder of a ring! The very unique vintage Modernist ring c.1950 is crafted from 14k yellow gold and features a 0.25ct early Modern Round Brilliant diamond with I color, VS2 clarity and Good cut. The diamond measures approximately 4mm in diameter and the setting itself measures a substantial 19.5mm long, 13mm wide, and 6.5mm tall, with a total weight of 6.5 grams. I love the designer's use of architectural design and negative space! This ring is currently a size 4.5 and can be easily sized by a trusted jeweler, however, sizing will disrupt the engraving inside the band. While I do love the idea of this ring as an engagement ring, I also love it for its symbolism as the Roman numeral X (10). It would be a very cool 10th anniversary ring, or a ring to symbolize any other 10 year commemoration! You could buy it for yourself just to celebrate the fact that you're a total 10/10! This ring has been evaluated and appraised by an Appraiser/GIA Graduate Gemologist at a value of $1,850 and comes with an appraisal which will be made out in the name of the buyer.
