This elegant 14k Victorian brooch c. 1850s-1860s measures 1.25" x 0.93" and weighs a substantial 6.7 grams. It is named for the character Cassandre in Berlioz's opera 1863 Les Troyens, which is an adaptation of story of the Aeneid. It features an intricately textured background which contrasts with the smooth texture of the raised inner oval and toggle bar design.
