John Steinbeck wrote "There are as many worlds as there are kinds of days, and as an opal changes its colors and its fire to match the nature of a day, so do I." Held aloft by diamond adorned 14k yellow gold wires and flanked by golden fronds, three opal cabochons glow, changing their color and fire to match the nature of the day, wherever you go. They exhibit beautiful play of color with evenly distributed patches of blue, green, and red! The brooch measures 40.32mm x 24.74mm (1.58" x .97") and weighs 8.8 grams. This piece was made during the 1940s and comes from the estate of a prominent physician who was a pioneer in her field.
