This charming brooch (c.1960s) is crafted from 14k yellow gold and features two birds with diamond encrusted wings, lovingly perched on a golden branch next to a nest full of natural sapphire and ruby eggs. As you can probably tell I'm often drawn to bird jewelry and this piece absolutely stole my heart! Dating back to the Victorian era, jewelry depicting nesting birds were often given as lovers tokens, symbolizing hope for a happy home and happy family. The sweet motif endured from generation to generation and I love seeing the distinctly midcentury American take on the antique style in this beautiful piece. The entire brooch measures 2.215 inches long and 0.875 inches high and weighs a substantial 8.1 grams. The brooch closure is in excellent working condition. This piece comes from the estate of a prominent physician who was a pioneer in her field.
All pieces will be sent with tracking and insurance. A signature will be required for delivery for added security. Sales are final, however, if there is a problem, please contact me ASAP so I can resolve the issue. I want all of my customers to love these jewels as much as I do!.
