This gorgeous antique ring comes to us from beautiful Amsterdam and was made during the first decades of the 20th century. It is named for the character Octavian from Richard Strauss's 1911 opera Der Rosenkavalier, which happened to be the very first opera performed by the Dutch National Opera (in Amsterdam), when it opened its doors as a new foundation in 1965. This elegant navette shaped ring is crafted from 14k yellow gold (585) and features 27 rose cut diamonds with an estimated total carat weight of approximately 0.63ctw. The hand cut rose cuts glimmer with an enchanting mercurial effect and the contrast between the warm yellow gold and the silvery diamonds is heavenly! The face of the ring measures 21mm long, 7.8mm wide, and rises 3.8mm from the top of the finger. Its low profile makes it very comfortable for daily wear. It is currently a size 6 and can be easily sized by a trusted jeweler.
