Ring

Songbird Sara Jewelry

This beautiful set of antique stacking rings c. early 20th century features 4 bands of garnet, green chalcedony, sapphire, and opal, held together by a hinged connector. This is a very old style that originated in Turkey, but became popular in Europe during the late 19th/early 20th century. The colorful rows remind me of a lovely flower or vegetable garden, seen from a birds-eye view. Each band is a size 7, but when worn all together, the ring fits more like a 6.75/6.5 because of its total width. This ring has been very well loved over many generations and the stones have numerous abrasions and chips commensurate with age and wear. It is still a very beautiful and wearable piece, and priced to reflect the condition of the stones. It is an extremely impactful piece with excellent finger coverage, that will act as the perfect anchor piece for colorful, multi-gemstone looks! Each band measures 3.1mm at its widest point, tapering down to a wire band that is held at the bottom in a hinged connector. The 4 bands together measure 12.3mm wide in total and weighs 4.5 grams. It is possible that this ring could be sized by a trusted jeweler, but due to the fact that there are 4 bands involved, as well as a beautifully functioning hinge system, this might be a more expensive and involved procedure than usual and I think it would be best left unmodified.
