This beautiful antique snake ring comes to us from Edinburgh, Scottland...real life Hogwarts! It is crafted from 18k yellow gold and features a small garnet on its perfectly shaped head. I love the detail on its eyes too! The garnet does have some abrasions commensurate with age, but these are not noticeable to the naked eye. The ring was essayed in 1915 in Chester, making it especially collectable. The Chester essay office closed in the 1960s and essayed fewer pieces than other offices, making the pieces they essayed very desirable to collectors. This ring measures 9mm at its widest point, and 6mm at its narrowest. It is currently a size 7 and can be easily sized by a trusted jeweler. Because the underside of the ring features 3 distinct rows, some detail on the underside of the ring may be lost in sizing if you are sizing up.
