Ring

Songbird Sara Jewelry

This ring is named for my operatic idol, the one and only "La Divina", Maria Callas (1923-1977). Callas was a jewelry fiend herself, and wore an incredible 11.7 carat marquise diamond! While not quite as large, this marquise diamond ring does take up quite a bit of finger real estate and is certainly fit for a diva. It is crafted from platinum and features a striking bezel set old cut marquise with beautiful chunky facets, a large culet, and elegantly rounded points (often referred to as a moval). The diamond measures 7.85mm x 4.25mm x 2.29mm with a calculated weight of 0.55ct. It has I color and VS1 clarity. It faces up very white and is very lively with beautiful large pastel flashes of fire. It is likely that the center diamond was from an older ring (Edwardian/Art Deco period) and was modified/set into this custom setting around the 1950s.  Surrounding the bezel set marquise is an elegant airline and a sparkling double halo of early round brilliant cut diamonds of G/H color, and VS1/VS2 clarity, with a total carat weight of 0.55ctw. The shoulders of this ring are adorned with two burnished set baguette cuts weighing 0.10ctw with G/H color and VVS1/VVS2 clarity. This ring is currently a size 7 and can be easily sized by a trusted jeweler. This would make a once in a lifetime engagement ring or statement ring.
