This perfectly elegant 3-stone engagement ring features a floral and fiery Old European Cut diamond measuring 5.95mm-5.79mm x 4mm with a calculated weight of 0.87cts, L color, and VVS2 clarity. It has a gorgeous facet pattern, chunky facets, and so much fire and sparkle. It throws beautiful pastel rainbows, which look especially romantic against the antique white color of the stone. Old European cuts face up whiter than modern diamonds of the same color, and warmer cuts like this one are beloved by old cut collectors for their old world charm. This diamond also has a faint florescence which counteracts some of the warmth. It appears icy white in some coloring, and shows beautiful warmth in others...truly a beautiful chameleon. It is set in an 18k white gold 3-stone setting and is flanked by two brilliant cut diamonds measuring 2.7mm, each with an estimated total carat weight of 0.16ctw, H/I color, and VS2/SI1 clarity. The setting is in a classic style of the 1950s, though the center Old European Cut diamond was likely cut during the 1920s or 1930s. It is possible that it was a family stone that was given to the young couple to be re-set into a "modern" style of the time. The ring is currently a size 7.75 and can be easily sized by your local jeweler.
